When you are the Queen of England you do not take a simple selfie for you birthday. You easily get the biggest photographer in England, David Bailey, to do it for you.
The photo was taken to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 88th birthday, which is Monday April 21.
It was also taken for the government campaign GREAT Britain. The official Facebook page stated the mission being “To inspire the world to explore Britain, and to spread a little Love Great Britain.”
The photo was taken in March at Buckingham Palace and released today, posted on the twitter account @BritishMonarchy .
Described by Bailey to the BBC as a “very strong woman,” she was captured in the black and white photo with an inviting smile and three strand pearls on.
A little more than a month away, Barbara Walters will record her final show on The View.
Walters, whose career in broadcast started over 50 years ago,set May 16 as her last day on the daytime talk show. She will also host a two hour goodbye segment on ABC later that night.
The View first aired in August 1997, which she helped create. The original female co-hosts along with Walters were, Star Jones, Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira, and Debbie Matenopoulos.
The announcement of her retiring from being in front of the camera was made last year, so she can focus the remainder of her career behind the scene. So there are no plans for her joining another show.
Barbara Walters will be leaving behind her current co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sheri Sheperd, and Jenny McCarthy.
Who do you think will be the new co-host?
Well if Pharrell Williams did not have enough reasons to be “Happy” already he just got one.
The ageless musician was just announced by NBC’s The Voice twitter account that he will be joining as one of the coaches for their seventh season. Where Williams retweeted and commented “This is going to be fun”.
This is looking like a good year for Pharrell with his song “Happy” being nominated for an Oscar along with countless amount of radio play.
Will you be tuning in to season seven to see Pharrell and his big hat turn in those red chairs?
